Checkbook — Privacy Policy

Checkbook is a manual financial register developed by McKittrick LLC. This policy explains the app’s financial storage separately from advertising and consent services, Apple purchases, information you choose to send us, and this website.
Your financial information
Accounts, transactions, and bills you enter are stored locally on your device. When iCloud sync is enabled and available, that information syncs through Apple’s private CloudKit database in your own iCloud account, rather than a McKittrick-hosted financial database. We do not receive your financial register through that sync.
You can manage your records in Checkbook and your iCloud storage through Apple’s settings. Copies you export or share are separate from the app’s stored records: deleting an app record does not delete a CSV, email, or other copy you have shared. CSV import and export are not a complete backup or lossless restore.
App Store privacy disclosure
Checkbook’s App Store privacy disclosure is “Data Not Collected.” No data categories or collection purposes are declared, and no data is declared as used to track you. This describes the app under Apple’s privacy-label definitions; it is not a claim that no network request occurs, that the app contains no third-party SDKs, or that Apple services, support email, and this website have no data processing.
Advertising and consent services
The free version supports advertising; Checkbook Pro removes ads. Checkbook’s advertising integration uses Google Mobile Ads and Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) for advertising consent choices. Financial records stored in Checkbook are separate from those services.
Google’s Mobile Ads data disclosure describes information its SDK may process, including IP addresses and approximate location, device identifiers, advertising and interaction data, and crash and performance information, for advertising, analytics, and service improvement. These are Google’s general SDK disclosures, not a statement that Checkbook collects every listed category. Checkbook’s app-specific declaration is the App Store disclosure above.
Where Ad Privacy Options is available in Checkbook’s settings, use it to review the consent choices offered for your region. Advertising consent and Apple’s app-tracking permission are separate controls; consent to an ad choice is not itself permission to track across other companies’ apps or websites. Removing ads with Pro does not remove Apple’s purchase processing or information you choose to send to support.

Purchases through Apple
Apple handles App Store payments and purchase restoration. Checkbook uses Apple’s StoreKit purchase information to determine your Pro access. We do not receive your payment card details through Checkbook. Apple handles its account, billing, and payment information under Apple’s privacy policy.
Support and information you share
If you email support, we and the email services handling the message receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send. We use that information to respond to your request and troubleshoot the issue. Do not send bank credentials, full account numbers, financial exports, or unredacted financial screenshots.
For questions or requests about support information you have sent us, contact support@mckittrick.co. This is separate from managing records on your device or in iCloud. Apple and Google provide controls for information handled by their services; we cannot delete copies held in accounts or destinations you control.
This website
This company website is hosted on Vercel and uses Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to measure website visits and performance. Website requests and measurement can involve information such as the page visited, referring site, browser or device information, and performance measurements. This website measurement is separate from Checkbook’s iOS financial database and its App Store privacy label.
